Dental Bonding in Scarborough and East York

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding is a cosmetic dental procedure that can effectively improve the appearance of your teeth. This process uses a tooth-colored resin that is applied to the surface of the teeth to mask imperfections.

What's Dental Bonding

The resin is placed on the teeth, shaped, and hardened with a special light. Bonding can help to fix chips, cracks, and other types of damage to your teeth.

Dental bonding is often recommended for people who want to enhance the look of their teeth without undergoing extensive procedures. It is a quick and relatively affordable cosmetic treatment that can last for several years.

It may also be used to fill gaps, reshape teeth, and make teeth appear longer.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

The materials used in dental bonding generally last from three to ten years. After this period, your dentist will need to undertake measures to either replace or maintain the bonded areas.

To maintain your bonded teeth in optimal condition, it’s important to: Exercise caution when eating and biting into hard foods to avoid chipping or breaking the bond. Pay attention to any rough or jagged sensations on your bonded teeth, or if your bite feels uneven.

Instead of shaving down your teeth, a dental laser like SOLEA is used to roughen the surface for better adhesion of resin to tooth surface, after which the material is applied around them without replacing any parts. However, both composite and porcelain veneers might require slight shaving to fit the material’s thickness.
